LISA GODLEWSKILisa Godlewski has been an active member of the local music community for the majority of her life. Growing up in Woodridge, she began studying music at age 7 and began her formal oboe studies at age 13. While in high school and studying in Downers Grove with Deb Stevenson (Milwaukee Symphony, Metropolis Quartet) and performing at Downers Grove North, the College of DuPage Symphony and Musical Pit Orchestras, and for the Downers Grove Music Club, she decided to pursue a career in music education. She received her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where she studied with Nancy Ambrose King, Marlen Vavrikova, Dan Stolper, Scott Hostetler (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), and Rob Botti (New York Philharmonic). After graduating she taught band in Naperville and taught private wind and piano lessons. Besides her teaching career, she has been seen in performance with the Naperville Municipal Band, the Salt Creek Sinfonietta, and the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. She now has an exciting performance career with guitarist Ric Larsen, performing throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond as the Legato Duo.
