GINA TORBETT

Flute Instruction

Gina Torbett enjoys teaching flute lessons and serving as an adjudicator for various junior high and high school solo and ensemble contests. She is an active performer in church and community groups and is currently the principal flute of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra.

Mrs. Torbett teaches general music classes at Wolf’s Crossing Elementary where she also directs the Crossing Choir and school musical theatre productions. She is a 2001 graduate of Western Illinois University. During her time at WIU, Mrs. Torbett performed on piccolo in Wind Ensemble, as principal flute in the WIU Symphony Orchestra and on mellophone in the Marching Leathernecks. Her past teachers include Dr. Andrea Graves, Gerald Carey and Michele McGovern.

Mrs. Torbett’s professional memberships include the Illinois Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference and Mu Phi Epsilon. She is a member of the Aurora Junior Woman’s Club, where she performs annually in their theatre fundraiser for charity. She lives in west Aurora with her orchestra teacher husband and their two children.
