Chuck
received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Western Illinois University,
along with achieving certification in Elementary Music and Secondary
Instrumental Music. For many years, Chuck has directed children’s
orchestras through local public school districts, having responsibilities
which have included working with solo, chamber, small and large string
ensemble groups and repertoire, and coordinating concerts including more
than 120 students in five different elementary schools.
He has affiliations with the
Illinois Music Educators Association, American String Teachers, the
International Society of Bassists, Music Educators’ National Conference,
and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Chuck currently performs with several musical
groups and orchestras in the area, including the Chicagoland Pops
Orchestra.
I am a self-directed and enthusiastic teacher
committed to providing meaningful intellectual and aesthetic musical
experiences to elementary, middle or high school students. I’m looking to
challenge students with performances of diverse literature and include
activities in composition, ear training and music history that tie in
with students’ core curriculum. In my teaching, I work to foster
relationships between students, parents, colleagues and the community.
