Saxophone and Clarinet Instructor

sampleBrett Palmer is a graduate from Elmhurst College (Illinois), with a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies, magna cum laude. During his time there, Brett actively participated in jazz combos, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and saxophone quartets. Brett has studied with Mark Colby, Steve Duke, Frank Portolese, Frank Caruso, Roger Birkeland, and Lara Regan. In his four years as a member of the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, Brett had the opportunity to perform alongside some of the biggest names in jazz such as Bob Sheppard, Clay Jenkins, Gary Smulyan, Dennis Mackrel, Bobby Shew, John Pizzarelli, Bob Mintzer and the Yellow Jackets, Nnenna Freelon and Patti Austin. While with the band he also had the opportunity to tour in France, England, Scotland, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. Brett currently freelances for big band and small group performances throughout the Chicagoland area, and is a recent addition to Jeff Hedberg’s C11 jazz ensemble.
